Linking Your USDOT Number Your Clearinghouse Portal Account

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has made updates to its Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse so that an employer’s FMCSA Portal and Clearinghouse account can be linked together by a USDOT number. This will allow employers to connect their Clearinghouse actions (i.e. reports of violations, queries, etc.) with their USDOT number in their FMCSA Portal account.

Employers must log in to their FMCSA Portal to finalize this process. Motor carriers who have more than one USDOT number will need to be sure they have the right Clearinghouse Portal user role per USDOT number. Each user whose company has a USDOT number needs to have a personal FMCSA Portal Account.

Adding a USDOT number to a Clearinghouse employer account:

  1. Log in to the Clearinghouse.
  2. Go to My Dashboard – My Profile.
  3. Click the button “Add USDOT#” at the top of the “My Employer Profile” screen.
  4. Follow the instructions provided.
