Wear Blue Campaign
Today Lee Trans employees participated in #WearBlueDay to show support for the #BlueCampaign and #TruckersAgainstTrafficking.
President Biden proclaimed January 2023 as “National Human Trafficking Prevention Month”, reaffirming his Administration’s commitment to protect and empower survivors of all forms of human trafficking, to prosecute traffickers, and to bring an end to human trafficking in the United States and around the world.
According to the Administration, globally an estimated 25 million people are subjected to human trafficking and forced labor, which is responsible for an estimated $150 billion annually in illicit profits. It erodes the safety and health of our communities and transportation networks, the security of our borders, the strength of our economy, and the rule of law.
Through the core program of Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT); the Industry Training Program, hundreds of thousands of industry members are trained on the realities of sex trafficking and how the trucking industry can combat it. Through nationwide presentations, using a robust social media program and via our industry-specific materials, TAT partners with trucking schools, carriers, truck stops, as well as shippers, manufacturers and state and national trucking associations, in order to spread the word.
Visit truckersagainsttrafficking.org to gain access to materials like their wallet card, which outlines red flags to look for and what actions to take when you suspect someone could be the victim of human trafficking. Truckers can download the TAT app to report observed suspected behavior directly to the National Human Trafficking Hotline.
